Natixis - Digital Transformation
Challenge
Bring vision, consistency and structure to digital transformation
Natixis Investment Managers was in the midst of a far-reaching digital transformation programme. They already made extensive use of traditional consultancies across the business and wanted to try something different.
I worked with their CIO to create, initiate and carry-out a design-led programme to assess the state of digital transformation across the organisation.
Discovery - understanding the organisation
Working with another team member, I conducted 51 interviews across a variety of roles (CIO, COO, Head of Sales, Marketing…) and locations to gain an understanding of current initiatives.
These interviews provided an excellent way of understanding the very complicated business of investment banking as well as providing exposure to virtually every part of the business.
Communicating the design approach to the Management Committee and CEO
I conducted a three hour workshop with the Management Committee and CEO to cover the findings from the interviews and recommendations for how Natixis could take them forward. We identified three key strategic areas for Natixis to focus on. These areas had to do with:
Collaboration across the organisation
Ensuring efficiency of processes and tools
Establishing programmes for future innovation
Through the workshop activities, we worked with the ManCo to identify key actions and owners to advance these areas throughout the organisation.
Following through - working with Natixis on design-led transformation
Following on from the session with the Management Committee, I continued to work with my team on a variety of initiatives across Natixis. Business challenges I addressed included working processes between Marketing and IT teams, optimising the RFP process, creating digital-ready content, and how to be more responsive to events in the marketplace.
